Criminal Probe Launched By U.S Army After Eight Bodies Are Discovered In One Arlington Grave
Arlington, US – Eight bodies have been discovered in one grave, located at Arlington cemetery, which has sparked a criminal investigation launched by the U.S army.
The cemetery is the most distinguished and prestigious burial ground in the country, but the latest discovery has cast a grim shadow over the operations at the cemetery. Eight urns containing the cremated remains of bodies had been placed in one single grave, simply labelled ‘Unknown’.
A spokesperson for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, Christopher Grey claimed that the situation is, “not likely a mistake.” He also went on to tell reporters, “It demanded an investigation to determine if there’s any criminality involved in the burials.”
The announcement has been brought to light almost three months after the initial discovery was made. The current on-going investigation’s main priority at the moment is to identify each of the bodies after one of them was reburied due to the fact it was unidentifiable.
Arlington have been strongly criticised over the management that has taken place which has led to these grim discoveries, some may have been put down to honest mistakes, but the alarming scale of the situation, also considering other discoveries, has been described as too ‘suspect’ to be just human error.
